SMU Inspiration Hub: A space for collaboration, creativity, and comfort
Designing space to inspire connections
Atlantic Business Interiors partnered with Saint Mary’s University to transform a large, open area into the SMU Inspiration Hub, a purpose-built environment that brings students, faculty, and community together for collaboration and creativity.
The space was designed to accommodate a variety of activities, from informal study and social interaction to group brainstorming and formal events. Key to the design were flexible furniture arrangements, durable finishes, and adaptable seating that supports a range of learning styles and interaction modes.
Careful selection of furniture played a major role in achieving this vision. ABI worked closely with SMU to curate a mix of seating options, lounge elements, and work surfaces that feel inviting yet functional. The result blends comfort and versatility, encouraging people to use the space in different ways throughout the day.
Installation and coordination were carried out with precision to ensure minimal disruption to campus operations. Our team collaborated with facilities and project partners to match timelines and deliver a fully realized space that supports both academic engagement and community activities.
