NSCC’s student housing at Ivany Campus
Built on a long-standing partnership
Atlantic Business Interiors has worked closely with Nova Scotia Community College since 2014, supporting a wide range of campus environments across the province. For the student housing project at Ivany Campus, ABI was brought in to furnish new and expanded residence spaces with a focus on durability, comfort, and efficiency.
Working alongside contractors and project teams, ABI coordinated furniture delivery and installation to align with tight construction schedules and ensure the residences were fully furnished and ready for students on move-in day. Careful planning helped minimize disruption while meeting the functional and aesthetic needs of student living environments.
The result is a set of residence spaces that balance practicality with comfort, supporting both private rooms and shared areas where students can study, relax, and connect.
Service provided
ABI supplied and installed furniture for student rooms and shared spaces throughout the residence, with an emphasis on durability, accessibility, and ease of maintenance.
Student rooms were furnished with functional task chairs, side chairs, and versatile tables designed to support everyday study and living needs. Common areas were outfitted with lounge seating selected for comfort, durability, and easy cleaning, including healthcare-grade vinyl finishes well suited for high-use environments.
Accessibility was a key consideration, with height-adjustable tables incorporated into barrier-free rooms to support a range of student needs. To ensure the right fit and comfort, furniture samples and prototypes were reviewed during the selection process.
Where possible, Canadian-made products were prioritized, supporting quality standards and reliable lead times while aligning with NSCC’s long-term operational requirements.
