A seamless transition for NSHEPP’s new headquarters

At Atlantic Business Interiors, we know a returning client is the best compliment. When the Nova Scotia Health Employees Pension Plan (NSHEPP) decided to move their headquarters, they reached out to us once again, inspired by the positive experience they’d had with their previous Bedford office. Their vision was clear: they wanted their new space to feel just as functional, comfortable, and curated as the last one.

From the outset, our relationship with NSHEPP was built on trust and attention to detail. This time, they didn’t just want a repeat, they wanted to elevate their workspace, blending the best elements from their previous office with thoughtful enhancements for their new headquarters. The project began with a close partnership between NSHEPP’s leadership and our team.

While we didn’t design the new floor plan, our expertise came into play as we curated and supplied every piece of furniture to match the client’s exact expectations. The project called for a unique combination of brands and materials, ranging from 3H office furniture to Steelcase wall fronts, Spec meeting tables, Humanscale monitor arms, Keilhauer lounge seating, and custom pieces that brought warmth and sophistication to every corner.

NSHEPP was meticulous in their selections, often drawing inspiration from their global perspective and high standards. Our role was to interpret their vision, present tailored options, and handle all the sourcing and coordination down to special orders with customer-selected fabrics and finishes.
One of the subtle challenges of this project was achieving a cohesive look while sourcing from multiple suppliers. Our client had a very clear aesthetic in mind and wasn’t willing to compromise, so we explored the full range of our manufacturing partners to create a workspace that was both beautiful and practical. Whether it was the refined oak front in the lobby or the elegant boardroom seating, every detail was considered.
As with any complex project, there were plenty of moving parts behind the scenes. Our team went above and beyond, coordinating with the building management to schedule after-hours deliveries, and even bringing in staff from across Atlantic Canada to ensure the installation went smoothly. The construction and design teams worked in tandem with us, and our customer service team managed communication every step of the way.

Perhaps the real twist in this story is not what went wrong, but how we responded to every challenge. Our team made it a point to always keep the client’s interests front and center, finding creative solutions and maintaining open communication. We believe that’s what transforms a project from a simple furniture installation into a true partnership.

Today, NSHEPP’s new headquarters is a reflection of their values: professional, welcoming, and ready for the future. The client’s team enjoys a space with sweeping views, private offices, collaborative areas, and a blend of high-end furnishings that set the stage for productivity and growth. We are proud to have played a role in making this vision a reality—and even prouder to know the client is thrilled with the result.

At Atlantic Business Interiors, we view every returning client as both a responsibility and an opportunity: a chance to do even better, build on past success, and deepen the relationship. NSHEPP’s headquarters stands as a testament to that philosophy, and we look forward to supporting their continued success in the years to come.
