From missed call to Halifax office furniture win: The Convergint story

Client:

Convergint

Sector:

Security

When Convergint, a global leader in security and building solutions, decided to establish a new Halifax office, they had more in mind than simply setting up desks and chairs. Their vision was to create a space that reflected their culture, supported rapid collaboration, and gave employees an environment they would be proud to call their workplace.

Atlantic Business Interiors was invited to bring that vision to life. What followed was a project that blended precision planning, hands-on collaboration, and creative problem-solving, the kind of work that proves why clients trust us for more than furniture.

Convergint was no stranger to Atlantic Business Interiors. Having worked with us previously, they knew what to expect: reliability, responsiveness, and results. This time, the stakes were higher. Their Halifax office would serve as a regional hub, and it needed to reflect the energy and professionalism of a global brand.

From vision

Our work began long before a single product arrived. We reviewed Convergint’s floorplans alongside their leadership and contractors, identifying how employees would move, meet, and work throughout the day. Each zone — private offices, shared workstations, meeting rooms, and collaboration hubs — was mapped out with intention.

To curating from the best suppliers

Convergint’s design vision called for a curated look that couldn’t come from a single manufacturer. We sourced from across our supplier network: Steelcase for ergonomic seating, Global for versatile solutions, Spec and Ofco for durable worktables, and Allseating for comfortable lounges. This mix created a balanced space that was both practical and polished.
No project of this scale unfolds without surprises. Construction timelines shifted, product availability changed, and last-minute design tweaks popped up along the way. Our team responded with agility, adjusting schedules, coordinating multiple deliveries, and keeping the project moving forward without missing deadlines.

We weren’t working alone. Convergint’s leadership, their project managers, and the construction firm all played active roles. Our job was to bridge the gap — translating their vision into product specifications and coordinating across multiple stakeholders. Weekly touchpoints ensured every decision, from finishes to placement, was aligned.

A major priority for Convergint was creating spaces where teams could connect effortlessly. We outfitted collaboration areas with lounge seating, modular tables, and acoustic elements that made group conversations natural and comfortable. These spaces became the heart of the office, reinforcing Convergint’s culture of teamwork.
When the installation was complete, the feedback from the Convergint team was immediate and enthusiastic. Employees commented on how the space supported both teamwork and focused work. Leadership was pleased with how smoothly the project ran and how closely the final result matched the vision we built together. The new Halifax office quickly became a place that reflected the company’s culture and gave their team a workspace they were proud to call home.

But perhaps the strongest measure of success came after the project wrapped. Convergint was so satisfied with their Halifax office that they referred us for their office project in Newfoundland. That referral wasn’t just another opportunity, it was a clear demonstration of trust. It showed that the work we delivered had earned not only their appreciation but their confidence to recommend us across provinces.

For us, the Convergint story isn’t only about one office. It’s about building a long-term partnership by listening, tailoring solutions, and delivering results that go beyond expectations. Halifax was the beginning, but the relationship is already expanding, proving that when you do great work, clients want you by their side for the next chapter.
